My host provides a form where I enter the value, in this case "media", and then the host creates the full bucket url for me. So when I create the CNAME for media.awakenedvoice.com I enter the "media" in the name field and then s3.amazonaws.com in the value field and my host creates a CNAME record that is comparable to the one in the Amazon help document you linked to.
