Have to admit that for where I’m at on the learning curve, this vid tute was helpful to watch the process, reinforcing some basics and making distinctions on technique and options.

wow, mind some brutal honesty? real time waster – half way through you’ve only read what’s on the page for me… and repeated it ad nauseum. something mildly useful at 5/8 through – creating new blocks: good to understand the ui quirks where you actually have to go through configure twice. whew…. bet a second cut at your screencast would let you add more value per minute

There are a couple of different ways to do this. You could utilize the panels module at http://drupal.org/project/panels. You can also create a page with tables and then add the code to insert a particular block in each cell of the table.

The second method is what I used to create the front page of http://beta.musicbuggy.com/.

There is also a new module that makes this easier called Insert Block. http://drupal.org/project/block_tags

Hi. I had a question about arranging blocks horizontally. How does one do that? like at the bottom of http://www.modestofamous.com and http://www.observer.com. I’m assuming these two rows of three at least use the views module to list each category, but how are they getting the blocks to arrange in that fashion?
